MY CAR I BOUGHT IS A 79 CUTLASS IT HAS A 355 ENGINE AND THE GEARS ARE 3.08 I WOULD LIKE TO TURN ABOUT 5,000-5,300 RPM TO START. WHAT SIZE TIRE WOULD BE BEST TO START OUT THE SEASON WITH? WE HAVE A MAX WIDTH OF 7.5 INCHES ACROSS THE FACE AND LARGEST 235-75-15 RADIAL STREET TIRES, I KNOW EVERYBODY SAYS USE COBRAS. IS THERE ANY OTHER TIRES YOU HAVE HAD LUCK WITH LIKE GRAND AM'S ECT..? THANKS AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK EVERYONE!!!!

I have the same question, if there is anyone around who can help. I am gonna run on a very high banked 4/10 mile track. I have a rebuilt stock 350 4-bolt main with a Turbo 350 Transmission. I have a 3.23 gear in the car. My tire rule says any street tire 205-235/75/15. Which one of these tires would work out best?? Thanks in advance.

The motor will be screaming at the 3/8 mile track, it will be yelling at the 1/4 mile track. You need a 2.41,,,2.56,,,or a 2.73 with a turbo350 running in low gear.

If you have some horsepower you can run the 2.41....if not you need a 2.73 The 2.56 is perfect but hard to find in a 7.5 metric. easier to find with a 8.5 rearend.

I ran 205/70/15 Goodyears with a tired 350 behind a powerglide in low w/ 3.73 gears on our 1/4 mile track and only hit 5700 rpm max. If your ever in SE Colorado I have that 10 bolt with 3.73 gears out of my 72 Buick I'll let go for $175.00. Thanks, Race

copper we run 2.73 in all three of our cars with the american racers in first gear. that works out to be about 6.88 final drive. we ran about 6300 to 6600 rpm in hallock and grand forks, and now greenbush will be the same size with a sweeping back stretch. don't live by everything on the nopa websight they seldom update. If you have any questions about the tracks feel free to call me at 218 782 5666 later JAMEY
