Ok Guys---I race on a 3/8 mile and a 1/4 mile track that is wet rough to dry slick or tacky--which DOT tires are the best for the cash.....B.F. Goodrich...or Hoosiers or the Cooper Cobras??? What is yall's experience?? I will run 255/60/15 or 275/60/15.

Thanx!

I was TOLD that the cooper cobra tests best with a durometer. The had the softest compound out of the three listed. Was also told they resist heating up really good, and grip like crazy in both wet and dry.

There are tires that MIGHT be better....Like the BLIZZAK (spendy!!!) or cooper whether master.....for example. But $70 PER tire is a bit crazy, and most tracks will concider these tires "snow tires", because they ARE!

when i ran a street stock i ran coopers, and almost eveey body ran them. one fast car use some parnelli(something like that misspelld though).
But if you can run them coopers are the best by a long shot. We ran some ot hoosiers, and bf goodrich, the coopers were the best.

We ran Mastercraft Tires last year. 225/60/15 (Thats the biggest we can run) They are made by Cooper. Same tread pattern as a cobra. $55 a tire. I liked them.

I'd think most tire dealers could at least order them. Just call the local dealers.

I have run both cooper's and hoosiers. If you can find them and their legal I would use the hoosiers. They have alot stronger sidewall, so you can run lower pressures. I thought they were more adjustable than all the rest. They seem to react more to differnt pressures, and traction was never a problem. We had fewer flats with the hoosiers. Our track outlawed them this year. You cant get much stagger out of coopers. It amazes me how they keep them all within a 1/4 inch circumfernce.
