A Hoosier 27.5 has a circumference of 86.39. The closest passenger size that I can think of would be a 265/60R15, which has a circumference of 86.45. Do a search on here. A lot of people use Cooper Cobras. Hope this helps.

we raced for years under a radial tire rule and learned to do pretty good with a 275/60 but thats as big a tire as our rules would allow and air pressure was very important...Im gonna say you want to run as wide a tire as your rules and budget will allow...another thing the radial tires have a pretty weak sidewall and roll over alot with low tire pressure takes a little getting used to driving...good luck....towman

I've never raced on street tires, but do the rules say anything about wheel dia? If you could sneak 16" wheels in that would give a huge advantage. I think most rules to spec 15" so you're kinda stuck.

If it were me, I'd get the widest, lowest profile tire I could and gear accordingly. A couple company's over 295/50/15's. Those would be a few inches less role out, but a 295 is a pretty wide tire. Tirerack had 3 that were all aroun $80-$90 a tire. Still less than most race tires.

Just a thought.. .like I said I've never run on street tires.

the cooper cobras are the best street tire on dirt if you can find them. we used that same gauge when we had street tires. 12psi left side min. 16psi right side + up to 20psi. hope this helps. lol
