I run a 15" steel. I have seen aluminum fans shuck blades. I would run the smallest one that will cool your application, anything bigger will just rob ponys. Run a shroud & place the fan half in & you should be fine.

Good Luck

bigger pulls more air, and get a 6 blade(i think it is) steel hub and aluminum blade non flex fan. they are pretty light and realyl strong and good. in about any racing catologe, but spend the extra 10 bucks and get the aluminum blades.

GM 19" 4 blade. I think the application was for a 70's something Pontiac 455 wagon.

The 6 blade fans virtually block the air when spun really fast. The big 4 blade will actually pull more air and draw less HP. The blades have pretty decent cups to them. It was about $35 from the dealer. Don't have the PN handy, but hopefully someone does.

GONNA TRY A 15 INCH PLASTIC FAN THIS YEAR. I TALKED TO MY ENGINE BUILDER ABOUT ROTATING MASS AFFECTING HORSEPOWER. HE SAID MOST 3200LB CARS HAVE ENGINES BUILT FOR TORQUE, GETTING RID OF ROTATING WEIGHT WILL BE MOST NOTICABLE ON RESTARTS AND EXITING CORNERS. IF IT WORKS IS YET TO BE SEEN!

i tryed one of those plastic fans about 2 years ago i actually was down about 200 rpms at the end of the straight because they drag so much they pull alot of air but they also use up alot of hp i've had the most luck with a steel 15 inc 6 blade
