Anyone have any suggestions on what type of gaskets to use? Is there any really good racing gaskets out there to use to get a good seal? I know some people use the goop but I dont know about that. Thanks

Specifically what gaskets?

Personally, I prefer Felrpo performance gaskets for everything except the oil pan. Most of the perf. part numbers are jsut 4 digits. The most common 350 gasket is 1003 and I think the intakes are like 1204.

For the oil pan, get the one piece moulded rubber gasket and DO NOT put any RTV on it except a dab by the very corners of the timing cover and rear main area.

I buy a tube of RTV, build 3 motors (dabs on the oilpan, around the coolant ports on the intake and to stick the VC gasket to the valve cover and that's it), then throw the other 90% of it away cause it hardened. RTV has no place in a motor, it only masks poor quality gaskets.

I was useing those one piece rubber pan gaskets in 98-99, the good ones with steel inserts etc. and blew 3 out the r side of diff motors.

I went back to stock type. 3 dnf's not good.
