3/8th med banked, heavy clay to start and turns slick, the track is fairly wide throughout. Because of the motor were running (Ford 400--bomber class with a $500 claim for the whole car!) were gonna have to be at or around 5400 at the end of the straight, we have to use the c6 tranny and we'll run that in high gear. Were also limited to no more than an rv cam, stock 2bbl, 9-1 comp, and we can/plan on using the American Racer g60 tires (I dont know the roll on mod tires). I'm thinking in the neighborhood of a 5.14-5.29. Thx guys!

14 or the 29 is problably a good place to start. I think when I was runnig 5.14 with 87" rollout I was turning about 5500

I run a 5.83 gear 406sbc and a glide in high on a 3/8 med bank and turn 62-6500 rpm`s.. So i would say around a 5.29-5.47 gear to stay at 5400rpm`s..

Most of these guys are right on the numbers, but Im betting your car is heavy so Im gonna say do some research and go with all the gear you think you can stand because your passing people in the turns and coming off so put your power where your passing....Thats just my opinion.....towman
