Can someone tell me if a 1967 Cougar rearend is: 1) A 8" or 9"? 2) Would it bolt up under a 79 Camaro with little or no modification?

if it has a removable center section, it probably a 9". The camaro uses leaf springs, and if the cougar has leafs, its doubtable that the perches are right on.
I thought the cougar had a 4 link rear set up, correct me if Im wrong. If you know how to read a tape measure, and have a good arch welder, those mods arent extremely complicated.

1967 Cougar will be a 9" rear end with 28 spline small bearing axles. It is the perfect size for a Camaro. The spring perchs may have to be moved slighty. If you are careful they can be cut off and then welded back on. Keep them on the same plane and you won't change the pinion angle. Ford 8 inch small bearing axles will interchange with 9 inch small bearing axles.
