The rules at out track won't allow a Ford rear-end under a GM car (we tried and got caught). We are currently running a 7.5 10 bolt with 3.73 gears and the transmission in 2nd for a 6.29 final. We would really like to run straight thru the transmission and the nearest thing we can find would be a 12 bolt with 6.13 gears. We have found a 12 bolt out of early 70's Impala and are considering cutting it down to fit our Metric car. The stock gears are like 3.08, can the 6.13 gears be installed with a ring gear spacer or will I need to find the proper carrier? We are also considering cutting the axle tubes and changing the ends to 9" Ford, then having custom axles made, has anyone else done this? Thanks in advance!!!

if u want to run a 6.14 u need a numder 4 carreir, good luck finding one, and if u do they will cost about as much as a new spool. Quick performance can cut it down for u, or u can find a 12 bolt out of a older chevelle they will be a inch and a half wider than a stock metric rearend

forgot to add a number 4 carreir is a 3.90 and up

And i beleive you need a special crosspin,don't quote me on that just giving you a heads up.

the special cross pin is for strength. All it is, is a chrome moly pin.
