What is the point of some classes and tracks allowing a passenger? Is it just for fun?
Also do tracks require the cage to have more bars on the passenger side?

Are you talking about Cruiser cars? Or other classes?

Any class that allows a passenger.
Is that the only class that allows a passenger?
I just saw some people talking about it on here.

Rico...it sounds like you either are running an inside line or hit the wall...lol...I have been the gas man for a cruiser car for a while now. The worst we hit was about 75 mph into the wall. My side and front. Even with only a single loop we were allowed a harness and neither one of us got hurt at all. Those old cars were made pretty tough. And we were pretty lucky!!

I have seen em on speed channel a little bit. I think the guy in the passenger side reads the directions of and describes the upcoming terrain.

They run with a rider in the enduros about twice at the local track until one rolled and dam near cut the riders arm off. That was the end of that .

this is just my opinion now but i think that they shouldnt allow a pass. in a stock car heck if you get in to a rollover then the safty crew has to drag two people out na dont want that to happen safty first i know it would be fun to ride w/someone but if ya wanted to get the feel of racin drive your buddys car on a play day or mechanics race

Our local track allowes passengers in hobby stock. at least half the cars have passengers or are set up to have passengers. the rules are that you have to have the same door bars, window bars and safety equipment as the driver. There's 2 reasons for doing this. the first one is if your under 16 you have to have a experienced driver in the passenger seat for your first 10 races then the track determines if they can drive without a passenger. Most of those under 16 actually sit in the passenger seat for 1/2 a season then move to the drivers seat for the second half. the second reason is for intrest in the sport.I have a passenger seat in my car so my girlfriend can ride with me most nites on other nights i let friends ride that have helped on the car. I've also had a really experienced driver and my friend that has set up tons of cars ride. This helps in that my girlfriend is enthuastic about helping me work on the car and if i'm at a loss for how to fix a handling problem then the experienced guys can see what the car is doing and either suggest driving techniques or changes i can make to the car. I love the passenger seat, it's actually the reason i'm not moving up a class is so i can have the passenger.

I'm building a bomber car that will have a passenger--aka OH SHooT! seat--but I will only use it for track packing and playday hot laps--I wouldn't dream of having a passenger in it for competition. I have run a cruiser class before (have played the part of the gas/steer man and the brake man), but these were 4 cyl. fwd cars. The so-called bombers around here are a lot faster.

I drive a cruiser car at ThunderMountain in Rusk, Texas. We are allowed a passenger. They are there to ride for fun or to be a spotter. The driver controls both the steering and braking. I dont know if I would like for someone else controling the brake. I have to have total control! lol
