I was inspecting my car for the next race when I noticed that my axle tube where it joins the third member has broken the connection and caused the ls of the rearend to sag.

I have another housing that I will be installing this week.

Does anyone weld this area for a stronger bond and if so what is the process.

I know I will need a cast welding rod. any ideas??
I run enduros and need a strong rear end.
Thanks,
WR

I know when a Ford 9In has a new tube put in, they clamp it in a jig so when it is welded up the tube stays square. If your are going to weld it up yourself try tacking it in 4 spots across from each other so when you weld it up it wont pull the tube out of square. hope this helps.

That happens sometimes, they are only held in place by a lead plug, just make sure it's oriented right and weld it.

I have recently been involved in some training on welding tubes and fitting pipe. If you are welding a steel tube to a cast body you will need a 33-30 electrode (rod). And it is also true that you should "tack" the tube to the case in four opposite places and checked for squareness befor and after each tack.
Can anyone tell me where to find some set-up sheets for the rear suspension on a metric?
