I found a 2 door caprice that would be a good begginer car (from what I'm told) but I need a vin plate that says it came with a 350 or I will have to run a 305. Can anyone help me out?

yes, they are out there...just gotta find one. If I had to run a 305 anything I could do to get a few more horsies? It's a totally stock race but I don't wanna be the only guy following the rules...

hmm, I was thinking...a 305 is a 350 with a smaller bore, could a 305 be bored to a 350? Then I would have a 305 casting number but...(evil grin)
Maybe I should post this in the engines section.

now thats a picky tech guy to match the vin with the block # most of the guys that have spare vin tags are a little on the shadey side and probably wouldnt advertise lol

wizzard, My rules say you must run the engine that came with the car originally. I guess you're saying that it's highly unlikely that tech will check the block casting number against the vin #? It just seems to me that if the car was offered with an engine then it should be legal to run it with that engine, but according to the rules if my caprice was sold with a six cylinder I would have to run that. Seems like they are causing racers to look long and hard and probably spend more money in order to find a car that was reasonably equipped.

Anyway I now realize the 305 bored out to 350 was a dumb question so nevermind that.

most stock rules say that... but if the vin plate is removed what can the say? I really think that it just has to be offered in that year model...
