how do i lock the vac advance on my accel distributor it always wants to advance to much no matter what springs u put in it. i have to use my stock dist,springs are wore out, and it works good but i wanted to put the accel in it cuz its new. thanks for any advice

weld the weights together and set it at total adv.(around 34-36deg.)if you never done this try it on the old one first.if it bucks the starter just push the butten then flip the ignition switch on

Are you setting your timing at full advance, or at Idle? Or is it hard to start if you set your total timing where it should be? Does it have both mechanical and vac advance? If so, dont use the vac advance, I dont use mine. Won't make a differnce anyway.

rite now i have it 35 degrees that is where it stays its not too hard to start i timed it at full advance, thanks
