i have changed my motor in my bomber recently.it had a 305 in it but i blew it. now i have installed a 350. it came out of a 95 chevy truck.i changed the heads and put GM camel back heads. i aslo installed a GM aluminum corvette intake with a edelbrock 600 carb. i have stock exhaust manafolds with 2 3inch single chamber flowmaster mufflers. the cars that run in my class are suposed to be bone stock. but i'm push'in it.i have all GM parts except the carb and mufflers.so nobodys bothered me yet.but any way do you thing this is a good engine combo? the car is must faster but a little slow out of the turns, any suggestions? the car also has 4.11 gears with possi.but i really dont want to change the gears any more because the cars fast every were else on the track

First make sure your timing is fully advanced, somewhere in the range of 34-39 degrees at least by 2500-3000rpms. Then
sounds like you will need to work on the carb working towards that crisp throttle response when you step on it.

Get rid of that carb. A properly Q jet will out preform that carb by leaps and bounds. Heck,even a 4412 Holley is a excellent carb when worked on a bit.

Timing is a key as in the other post,but a good working ingition system will help you pick up some power out of the corner. Up grade to the HEI will help.

What type of stock exhaust manifolds do you run? Chevy makes many different castings,so get what is best for your ride. That motor has to breathe.

You don't say anything about a cam,but for the carb and those heads to work,a cam upgrade will make those parts work much better.

Just because you have good heads and some parts...it takes all the pieces of the puzzle to make a picture,and the picture your looking for is you in victory lane with the checkered flag.

You have a good start...just work on some small upgrades....amd you will see the improvement.

I think if you put alittle more gear in it it will come off the corner better and you will be running faster at the end of the straight anyway.I thought the vortecs where better heads than the camel humps .what size are the cambers compared to each other smaller camber =more compression which helps coming off the corners
