i beleave it would be hard to weld thin pipe to the castiron manifold. hunt in junk yard for some flanges or get some built. hope this helps........

you can braze steel to cast iron. oxy/acetylene with a brazing rod(brass with a flux cover).

Just use nickel rod and an arc welder, but they break real easy.

Yes, by all means you can weld pipe to your manifold. My manifolds are 2" inner diameter where the inner lip is. I got a 2" to 2 1/2" adapter and welded the 2" end inside the manifold. We have a 2 1/2 inch max exh. size! What you have to do is get the manifold melting and hit the adapter quickly so it doesnt melt through. Mine have been on for 2 yrs. now...... no problems! I used a 110 mig with flux core wire.

lol would i run 5 inch exhaust if i could ?
if there was a way to do it right and it helped you **** right i would. thnx for the help . i finally found nickel rod and fix them myself. they work just fine now.

was really easy to do.... preheat the exhaust manifold weld about half way or a lil less then put it back in the fire to cool down from the heat the arc welder produces then do the finishing weld. never cracked or burnt anyholes in the pipe

now the real question I wanted to ask, why would you ever put 3 inch pipes on a limited motor, with cast iron exhaust manifolds, which are smaller?
