i just bought a 355 sbc off a guy. he has a hi volume oil pump with a stock pan. should i be worried about sucking the pan dry? should i get a larger pan? thanks

ive never run a pan dry.evan on front sump fords.i'm sure some other folks have had problems b-4.heck evan my ol tow pick-up runin a high vol. pump with stock pan

I had basically the same setup last year and ended up throwing a rod.I went to a 8qt. pan this year and haven't had any problems. (knock on wood)

Go to the Kevko Racing Oilpan website and you will see a great product for circle track racing. Sure there are cheaper units out there,but the quality and workmanship on those cheaper pans is like the price....cheap.

Spend a few more bucks on a pan and pick up and not worry about your oil supply to the motor.
