2nd enduro race and second bent upper control arm. Ist control arm made sence due to the hit I received but last Saturday night I bent a new one up even worse with a side to side bump. It is the LS upper.
How do I strengthen it so this does not continue to happen?
must be stock (appearing).
Thanks,

By bending an A frame you may be saving not bending something else.

Don't stiffen the A frame, let it bend.

Hello,
I race a metric chassis also and have found the upper control arms to be very easy to bend into a pretzel shape. They are just weak. I also agree with peddler in the respect that if you beef up the control arm then something else will have to give in the case of an impact. Myself, I just carry two spares for each side. I would much rather replace that then have to take the chassis to the frame shop or scrapped.

Thanks for the replys. You all make a great point!
I just never bent an upper before, usually ran a 75 malibu. And now I have bent 2 in 2 races.
I agree, I would rather bend a $25 part then to get a $300 bill to straiten my frame.
