I just recently have installed a brand new engine in my car, the new engine has head casting number 492, the heads are not drilled out for power steering brackets, i am using a stock pump and it had bolted to the heads, anyone have any suggestoins on where i can get a block mounted bracket? I have searched junkyard after junkyard to no avail.....any suggestions will be appreciated!

try summitracing.com, that have ps brackets.
you could just make the bracket amd mount it
to the front most exhaust manifold bolt.

Had the same problem, had a 350 with 283 heads with no accsessory holes, long water pump. thought it would never be fixed, but the chevy van bracket was the key. works great, and the belt is exactly the same lenth as my fan to crank pulley, so i dont have to have two different sizes.

I have used the Speedway bracket before and it works great. Are you sure about the casting numbers on your heads? 492's are supposed to have the accessory holes.

Did You have any problems with belts coming of with the Speedway bracket with stock power steering pulleys?

Not if you run an "A" width belt and don't over tighten it.
