I live in Mt. Washington and am interested in building a street stock for Bluegrass. I've read over the rules and was wondering what I'd be getting into money and effort-wise to build a competitive car. I can do most of the fabricating and engine building myself (minus machine work), but I'm guessing that if you built it to rule specs you wouldn't stand a chance. Is this safe to assume? Just what kind of mods are being overlooked. Also, what model/engine combos are successful out there? I hope to check the racing out this weekend if it doesn't get rained out. Any advice on BG would be appreciated.

I race street stock, but this is my first year, so you'd probably be better asking someone in the pits about setups, etc...I'm still working the kinks out of mine, I can tell you what I have in my setup if you want to know though, just send me an email. As far as cost I have about 5,500 in mine and I did all the work myself minus machine work, I probably won't be at the track this weekend....still fixing my car from making friends with the wall a couple weeks'm car 8c if you see me in the pits though, I should have it there next week.
