I would like to get into the sport of dirt racing, however, I'm not sure how to go about it. I dont know all the different classes or anything. I've looked through the books that a friend has but it didnt help as far as details are concerned. If anyone can help please do so, especially if they know anything about west Alabama.

Thanks for the info. I didnt think about going to the track and getting a pit pass. Hopefully it'll make things a little easier for my start. I'm sure it'll take me awhile to get started, but, they say good things come to those who wait.lol

Watch for a night or two and see who is usually near the front. Approach those guys and tell them exactly what you just told us. Ask them if you can be their "gopher"- you know go for this, go for that. Pay lots of attention and after a while start asking questions. Watch what they do and try to figure out why they do it. Read forums such as this. Read all of the tech postings, even if it has nothing to do with whatever type car you want, all information and knowledge is power to you. Once you see how much it costs you may say forget it but then again maybe not. Be forwarned, once you start its in your blood, YOU CAN NOT STOP! Good luck, Kenneth

Thanks.. I was building a drag racer so i know its expensive. I had to leave it behind at my parents house in Ga. when I moved to Alabama.
