what 9" ford rearends are ya'll using in your camaros? i found one out of a 79 granada but i'd rather give my left nut than pay what they're asking for it. i was thinking of trying to find one out of a 57-64 or a 67-72 ford truck or a 70-71 torino/ranchero. what do ya'll think?

yeah, a granada 9" is kind of rare and some guys know what its worth. it's the narrowest 9" that ford ever made and actually not your best choice. a 71-73 mustang/cougar, 70-71 ranchero/torino/montego are all the same width and will be a better fit, allowing you to use a variety of different offset wheels to help make your car handle. they are also getting tough to come by as well. also, 8" and 9" axles interchange among those years.

save yourself a headache and get a pair of spare axles.

67-69 lincoln is 62.5 outside to outside, and 31 spline. and its allready 5 on 5.

extra axles are available from all american in seatle area 75 each, they have over 20 of each.

a stock camaro is 61.5 outside to outside.

The camaro that I started in had a 9" from something like a '76 Grand Marquis. I think it may have measured 63" overall. This was too wide in my opinion as I was limited to running only 4" offset wheels on both sides and whatever offsets on the front to compensate. A shorter housing would have been more tuneable.

Year is 66-77, width on the Bronco rear is 58" I am not sure if that is axle flange to axle flange or just the housing only. go to Quick performance website they might have more info on there..... Jim

I ran a 67 to 72 ford pu rear in a camaro and it worked ok the problem was the offset pinion when aligned in the tunnel it stuck out the left side about 2 in. further and will make you very tight but you get good exp. playing with wheel offsets I would say its not your best choice.....Towman

The 67-72 Ford pickup rearend is perfect for a Camaro. The axle housing and axles are beefier than the 71-73 'Stangs. They're cheap, too. I can pick 'em up around here for $50 apiece. They measure 61.5" hub to hub. Axles are equal length, so all you need is 1 spare.
