I was thinking that it would be fun for forum members to post on their race night's activities.
Kinda like:
I ran the 3/8ths at Tazewell,TN. Drew for starting position and lined up 16th of 17 pure streets. Finished 5th on one black slick racetrack.
Please post your race results. Thanks.

Thats a pretty good idea Eljojo. I lined up 4th in my heat race, finished second. Lined up 4th for the main. I was running 2nd when the engine got hot and I had to pull off the track. It was my worst finish of the year. Think I'm going to go back to a regular fan and ditch the electric one.

My car ran good in hot laps. Two laps into my heat my motor started cutting out. Figured it was the battery so we charged it during intermission and started the feature last. Two laps into the feature my right rear tire exploded and that was the end of my night.

west plains speedway. hotlaps ran bad fast for a stock mini stock. heat race was outside pole and ran 3 until heating probs Had to pull out. I thought I had just forgot to fill the radiator all the way up so did that and had to start tail back in the feature. On the first lap past about 5 cars and held my own until car got hot and started spraying my front tires. I ran it until 240 and It got progressivly worse And man it gave me a push I almost hit the wall head on and I said enough is enough so I pulled off. So this week I have to put a new bigger radiator in. BObby

B4 a remedy for that if it was the overflow is to run some clear tubing to the back of the car and loop some under the dash(before it goes out the back)and put it behind the dash, put a slot in the dash so you can see it,then when it gets hot you will see it in the dash and you're buddies behind you will get the slick stuff.

Eljo,

We would have already been done if had kept a rigid schedule from the time we started. This little project began before racing season ended last year.

First year of racing for me. First nite at 24 Raceway Park in Moberly, MO. Won my heat race, started mid pack in the feature, tire went down and was holding third when they black flagged me with three laps to go. Finished sixth.

Second nite collected my first race car hood ornament when another car lost it in front of me. He didn't restart. During other heats, we took off what was left of the nose and put some plastic in front of the radiator, pop-riveted and wired the hood down. Started in the rear at the feature, broke a new shock off both mounts and ended up third.

Pulled my car out of the snow bank tuesday night. Havent touched it yet, races start this sat. the 19th. Guess I have some work to do. I finished third in my last race of the season so I guess I have a third place car sitting in the yard untouched. Probably should change the oil or something, it did start right up even after sitting all winter.

Sat was first practise. Went out,ran two laps and learned real quick that i forgot to let the air out of my new tires. Was trying to hop clear off the track. Let air out to the pressure i thought was good, went out and ran the best three laps ever. Now i hope i can keep that 10 bolt chevy together long enough to beable to get my 9" together. Why anyone would "Trade" a 10" for a 9" i'll never know..................LOL

26 Hobby stocks show up for a fifteen lap feature and track owner Joe Loven gathers up those drivers and suggests "splitting" the field in two. Since we draw for starting position the field is mixed with fast and slow cars which will make for a bunch of torn up race cars. All agreed...
Started 8th in a twelve car field and fifteen laps later was beating the back bumper off second place. Finished 3rd.
Next week!

Friday night, started outside pole in heat race. Led every lap and won by almost a half a lap. Drew 3rd starting spot for feature. Finally got around the pole sitter after a few laps. I was in 3rd place fighting lap traffic when I got into one of them and broke a ball joint and almost rolled it. Darn thing was running as well as she has all year. Word of the week for me is PATIENCE. It seems I have a good week bad week cycle going. Out of 5 weeks I've had problems 3 of those nights. Never the same problem.

Volunteer Speedway Bulls Gap,TN
$500 to win Hobby Feature
Although "Gap" officials generally require hobby drivers to draw for starting position, last night we were able to qualify. Pole position was 17.18 and the Hot-Rod-0z clicked it off at 17.19 starting me on the front row. Track had gone way slick in one and two, but none the less when the green flag waived I hammered her on down into the corner-----WRONG! Spent the big part of the back straight gathering it back up and was the third car into four. Three laps later I put a "slide job" on the 6m and fell back behind the leader. Showed that dude the front fender three different times but each pass was negated by mid-pack cautions. Shadam! Mays got the trophy and JoJo was first looser...next week!

Genesee Speedway, Batavia (Rochester) NY. Started 3rd in heat was in lead by turn 3. 3rd lap got dumped by a rookie in last years championship car (car is fast, driver isn't, he hit two more guys during feature) Started feature 11th moved up to 9th. On lap 6 a car ($hitpile) 2 laps down got hit in rear and the bumper fell off . I ran it over and tore my oil pan on fresh motor :-( May be ok, coasted and watched oil press, as soon as it started to drop I shut it down.

at west plains speedway started heat 2 row out side move to 2 with ease and rode it out. Got dq as I killed the car and could not get it started to go across scales. after heat noticed oil dripping out of my brand new pan around the seam. bubble gummed it and ran the feature. started tail back and went to 3 in a lap. But there was a cation and origanal restart. Got up to 4th this time and started around 3rd and the car started cutting out. and I fell to the back in about a lap. Stayed out and outlasted a few and got 6th. Bobby

Boys, I just couldn't sit there......
Tazwell Speedway, Tazwell TN April 19
Spring Fling 100 Rain Date (second makeup)
It was Sunday and after the "meeting" I looked at the "Hunny-Do" list the Ol' Lady was working on and went out back and fired up the Econoline and hauled on down to Tazewell town.
Day races ALWAYS get slick, and the Pure Streets closed up the show. I'd rolled in after the drivers meeting and had to start tail back. It took two laps to get the field going and I found a little bite in the low line. That cars got grunt and within four I was running fifth. One good honk of the "chrome horn" and I'd managed to bring it to fourth. Third got into three waaaaaay hot and brought out the caution, spinning up against the wall. Restarted and ran the final 6 laps in third spot... BUT...SEEMS THE 33 CAR THAT WAS RUNNER-UP HAD THE PROTEST $$$$$$ and we all moved up another place in the finishing order whil the first place finisher took a DQ.
Back on the trailer for the trip home and the (now much longer) "hunny-do" list!

well fellows it could have been better,Gascity,I69 speedway,IN (street stock) we started off good in the heat race, and won it.IN the feature I was extremely loose and could not get any forward bite at all,so we ended up finishing 4th. we went home and put the car on scales and made some adjustments. We had a test and tune at Montpelier speedway last saturday, and we were really hooked up good. But including tonight gascity has rained 2 weeks in a row,but hopefully tomorrow Montpelier will get its first race in,and we will see if we can snag us a win!!!!!!!!!!!
