I am trying to find the bottom dollar price for a new Simpson 820 Bandit (SA2000 rated) helmet.

The lowest I have found so far is $369 (white only).

I really Like simpson Belts. but their helmets I don't like. If you have not been proffesionally fitted for a helmet I strongly suggest you do it. Different manufacturers fit differently and a bad fit can be dangerous I just bought a G-Force helmet after much research and fitting I was very pleased with the quality as well as the price and fit, also the face shield has the best seal and easy positive click action. IMHO

You have to go to the dealer to get prof fit for the helmet?

I bought my simpson bandit 8 from smileys for 329 on sale. They sell them regular for 349. I just went by my hat size and mine fits great. Just my opinion though.

I would seriously go to a trade show or parts expo, where you can try on all different styles and sizes, like the others have said a 7 1/2 simpson wont fit the same as a 71/2 g-force.

The amount of padding the shape, there are too many variable for a one size fits all helmet. hat size is a bad way to be fitted for a helmet, it doesnt take into account your other dimmensions, such as cheek bone structure.

I heard Bill Simpson's new helmets are not even out yet and they are already taking orders and are back loggged. Has any one put their hands on one yet????

Racer17j,
I hear ya on the bell stuff. I really like the x-17 from bell. The price is in the ball park with simpson and it just looks fast.

BTW are all the racers series helmets from bell sa2000 rated?

While we are on this subject of helmets, anybody have any trouble using contacts instead of glasses while racing. Do they dry out?

DMS I know that Bell and Simpson sell helmets that are designed for the user to wear glasses.

Sorry I dont wear contacts.

I have always'd used contacts (Acuvue II two-week disposables). Never had any problems w/them drying up or anything else for that matter. Only problems I've ever had was w/my bell sport II I would get chunks of mud in my mouth on certain nights. I bought a Bandit this year and it seems to have a bit more material below my chin to help w/my mud problem. Maybe I should just learn to breath out of my nose and keep my mouth closed

Do the Ultrashield tearoffs for RX-R helmets have the nose notch on them, and if so, do they fit banit helmet?
