Racer17j, i was looking for ignition wiring for a chevy. But would ford and chevy basically be the same?

Try www.derbypro.com/tut3.html I looked and looked and finally found this, do a search on demo derby cars, they do alot of the same things we do! Hope this helps ..loojack

hey racer17j? in your diagram, what is that thing right under the engine? there are wires attached to it.. i need to wire mine up that way..man this is probably a stupid question!!

That "thing" that is under the engine would be your gauges. You need power to your gauges for light if so equiped. If your gauges are like mine and mounted to metal you should'nt need the ground wire for them.The diagram that racer17j made is exactly how mine is and I have never had a problem so far.

bk19 the way the diagram is you can turn the motor over then power the ignition to fire it..

its a good idea for high comp. motors.

i do it the same ecxept i run a second button to the firewall to adjust the valves with, or to restart it etc while tuning under the hood.

i also run a batt cut off switch to kill all elect to the car.

AND A ALTERNATOR. LOL.

it helps if your motor is hot etc also.
