Our track is starting a new Pure Stock class, I need a recomendation on tires. Rules are as follows... " All four tires must be the same size,... Maximum 70 series stock passenger radial tire... No fancy, exotic gumball tire allowed. No grooving of tires. No camber cutting of the tire treads. Maximun tolerance of 3/32 allowed. Tires must be a minimum tread wear rating of 300...Seven inch stock steel rims only ". Our track is a high banked asphalt tri-oval. My car is a 76 monte that I got down to 3400 pounds. Thanks ya'all.

well i'd run as wide as you can with the 70 series aspect ratio say a 255/70 or even bigger they are wide just tall and don't run really low pressure or you will roll over onto the sidewall too much in the corner.

Oh yeah..the loop hole you could drive a stock car thru...Give them old boys at Towel City Retreads a call and have them cap you a set of their asphalt 70 series casings! They build camber into the tire-you won't have to groove, sipe, camber cut, or soak! Just wipe off a shelf in your shop to put the trophies on. Unless you deleted part of the rules, you'll be a happy camper till they change them.

I would like to point out that as long as they don't specify they all have to be the same brand use it to your advantage. Many times the rollout will be drasticly different from one tire manufacter to another. The cheaper tires usually seem to be taller whereas tires such as Cooper cobras or BFG tend to be shorter.
