If i had a Ford chassis I'd definitely try 65 289 castings with 1.90/1.5 valves on a 351 Compression would be around 12:1. I have a set on a mustang 11.70/110mph with a 302 CI hydraulic cam performer intake on pump gas!!

You cannot beat the newer GT40P heads used on 5.0 Explorers. The new flow and spark plug positioning is superior. The casting number is new but it is still a stock part.

the headers are where you run into trouble with the gt-40p heads. the new spark plug location is a problem with older style headers. is there a header you can use besides the restrictive explorer one?
