I RUN A 2.42 REAR GEAR IN FIRST WITH THE T-350. IT PULLS HARD OUT OF THE CORNERS AND THE ENGINE BRAKING IN FIRST GEAR MEANS I DON'T NEED TO USE TO MUCH BRAKE ENTERING THE CORNERS. THE TRANNY HAS NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM. I RAN A 3/8 MILE HIGH BANK TRACK, YOU SHOULD BE GOOD WITH THE 2.23 ON THE 1/2 MILE.

heck id try it too, alot of guys that run alta do it and it works for them. How big a motor u going to build for next year? it takes a big horse to run up front in webster
anymore. alot of guys are running more than 9 to 1 like 11 to 1,

not sure a bout alta rules ,there banqute is the 18th of januray, maybee they will give use the rule sheet for 2003. if your going to redo your heads this winter,a 5 angle valve job helps alot over the stock 3 angle, it cost a nlittle more but its worth it. i can send u the angles to run if intrested.
