Do yall know of any chassis builder who builds a metric car using the 58in centered rear end. Thanks for your input and time.

I guess we had the only chassis maker that used a 58in rear end, always our luck. Thanks for your time.

the last champion chassis by frieden used 58" rear ends but these were ford clips. not sure either what corey dripps uses under his cars. we used a 58" reverse offset under our old champion when we switched it over to a swing arm. needed the reverse offset for driveshaft alignment and to get the rear end positioned in the car correctly. john

I used a 58" on the last small metric car I built with 3 link. Now if using a 4 link setup its almost a must to have at least a 60 rear for room to get all the clamp on brackets and birdcages on the car and still have frame clearence.

We ran this metric car with the 58in rear and ran 4-z,4-2 and your right Custom, things were very tight under there. But this car was built like that, so it worked pretty good, once learned what the car and driver needed. I want to just replace the frame, but I am having difficulty finding a chassis builder who uses this 58in with 4-z,4-2 as their normal set up. I've had a few who have offered to move their mounts so I could run our rear. I leaning toward a metric clip car with an overslung rear for room. What do yall think.

You can widen that track width, would need a new axle. I do it all the time. Add 2" to the right side tube, and you'll end up with 60" with a 2" offset.

Overslung should be better for packaging issues.

I've heard of lengthing the tube, but I don't know anyone who does it around here. That would probably be fine, I know one builder said he used a 60in with 2in offset. Any one know of anyone?
