Last year when I ran the young guns I ran a 5.29, but for your aplication, with imca tires I would start off like 5.13 or 5.00.

Zeroracing is still looking for a ride for the young gun race, if anybody is interested in having somebody drive a car for the young gun shootout send me a pm, or email at jls4z3@umr.edu I have experience on this track, and a good setup in mind to roll off with.
Just new car will not be ready in time.

If anybody is interested send me a pm or email jls4z3@umr.edu or call 660-229-0641.

Last year at the young guns i ran a 5:29 with the hoosier tire and turned 7400. IMCA tires are alot smaller and I would run 500, if you wanted alotta rpm go with a 514. My understanding is that this year you can run any tire just like last year. The only people that have to run the IMCA tire are the IMCA guys.

Dont stay at the econo lodge, they would not let us keep a trailer there over night. But a few hotels down the street had room, and were fairly new, and cheaper.

The IMCA tire is now a Hoosier G-60, and they are avalible. And according to the IMCA rules, linked to Olgethorpe seem to be legal to run there for the young guns event.

don't think i would run them tires for the young guns, unless it is IMCA sanctioned. if not sanctioned, run either the AR open emod tire, or the Hoosier Open emod tire, unless the young guns have a tire rule.

Anyone have any suggestions on what tires to run at Oglethorpe? We're gonna run the UMP tires. Just wondering about what compounds to run. I've never run the UMP tires or the track so i need some help.

depends on if the track gets slick and hard fast. start with a "D", watch the track, then if it slicked over, and "H"
