I have a few questions hopefully someone can answer for me. I'm just getting into modified racing and bought a older dirtworks chassis. The upper 4 link mounts are at different locations (lr is located about 2 inches closer to the rear). Are they suppose to be at same distance? I also read in another post about the links should be 16 inches top and 14 bottom. Is this center to center on the links? One other question is how do you mount the spring to the birdcage without purchasing the expensive birdcages? Can you weld brackets on them? Do you also mount the shocks to the birdcages? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Here is a real good link to help you understand how a four bar suspension works. http://www.afcoracing.com/tech_pages/4link.shtml I make my own Bird cages for my car, So I guess if you are a good fabricator you can build you birdcages however you think works. The measurements people refer to are generally from center of heim to center of heim. I have run my springs and shocks on the birdcages, on top of the rear, and clamped in front of the rear.
