I'm looking at getting some flame retardant underwear for next year. I can't afford a nice firesuit and I think this would add a layer of needed protection.

My question is what to go with and how do you tell the sizes? Like I said, I can't afford anything fancy, but I see the carbonX ones and they sound reasonable, but I don't know how well they work. Anyone have an opinion on them or another brand?

I'm not looking for sales pitches, just the normal good advice given on here. Plus, do they measure the sizes the same as normal clothes? How do I tell what pants will fit?

the fire retardant underwear i use by Revolution Racegear (RPM) is nomex. when i purchased it several years ago they only made small, medium, large & x-large sizes. the stuff is so stretchable that those sizes are all that is needed.
you may be able to just give them your race suit size and they should be able to match it up.
would be best to give them a call.
check out the g-force stuff, seems to be pretty good value for money.
stick to the major brands if you can, at least there is a good chance that you will get what your paying for.

My Car owner got me some brand new, and ordered the wrong size the first time. They have never been used. Send me a Private and I will check with her this weekend on a good price for you. They are just sitting going to waste!

The ones I had were like long johns. Go to Wal-mart or something and try a pair on that fit you and order that size. Maybe this will help.

I never even thought to look at the firesuit size. I think my brain my be running out of capacity.

Well, that answers the size question, now how about brand?
