I need som eopinions. First off thisa is my first year in a mod and startted with a brand new TCI glide ran two nights without any problems, that was it, has been apart a few times and last night it pooped out completely, wont even move the car. Needles to say I have had enough with the glide junk. What is the difference between the Bert or the Brinn? What is better, lighter, easier to operate/maintain. Also can I get a bellhousing that I can use the stock starter for either. May consider buying used if anyone has anything and it is not to far.

both trannys are good and bullet proof, very easy to maintain, we change the fluid in ours every 2-4 races, also the brinn is the same length as your glide so you can use the same driveshaft, with a bert youd have to get a longer driveshaft. i have 2 of them for sale, nothing wrong with them, just downsizing, one is two years old $750, other one is 10 races old $950, can ship anywhere for $45. the brinn is right around $1400 new.

I think all the bert/brinn/falcon that are legal for mods will bolt to stock bell. I run a flacon and it bolted up just fine. BUt have had problems recently 3 years no probs, then locked up lower gear/rev. but have been told a brinn is the best. I had good luck with the flacon. but brinn seems to be good. although most lates use berts(ball splines, but still a bert).

i run a sfi approved steel aftermarket bellhousing would love to have a rev. mount starter one.
But as far as stock ones, i have never ran one in a mod, seen a few do it to save weight and they dont seem to have problems. one broke a stock aluminum one but saved his tranny.

We have been using the same Stock alum. belhousing and Bert trany for 5 years going on 6. just had it rebuilt this year. I try to have new clutches put in it every 2 seasons. If you run a lot of nights you might go a year and a half on a set of clutches. Plus we actualy bought it used from a late model driver for $800. We called Bert and they ran the serial # off it and found that it was made in 1996
