Can a 3spd. ford transmission be used like the saginaws. I haven't heard of any being used. Can they be adapted to a chevy engine. Just curious.

I don't know much about Fords. What little bit I know about them came from working on my 66' Mustang. I don't know how many different types of Ford 3-speeds there are but the type that was installed in like a 1966 Mustang was very very weak. I definately wouldn't recommend running one in a mod.

The toploader is the best, but most expensive. Some guys run the ford truck transmission (early eighties), but the tail shaft is weak.
I don't think Ford makes a transmission with levers on the side that will stand up to a Saginaw.
