I was wanting to know pros and cons of taking a latemodel chassis clipping the front and using for a mod. This is a 2000 shaw that is in very good shape.

I took a '99 Jigalo late model chassis and stubbed it with a '75 Chevelle clip. I used a jig we developed for building Camaros. The most important thing to remember is to get accurate measurements off the LM chassis and compare them to the stubs out there to make sure you don't run into issues like the left frame rail of the LM sticking out farther than the left frame rail of the stub, and depending on wheelbase, that the stub is long enuff. Like racer17j said, check your track rules on main cage O.D.. UMP is 1.5", IMCA is 1.75".
