i run street stocks up in ny and our rules are quite open for interpertation my car is built alot like your mods and i was wondering about the advantages of using the pinto spindles. how much work am i looking at and what other parts do i need to make it work. i have a complete 72 pinto front stub with all parts attached here left over from our 4 banger days will that work?

yep those spindles will work. You will need the spindles, a caliper adaptor for each so that the factory metric calipers will bolt to it, then you'll need rotors, Granada rotors. US Brake makes a rotor to fit with a 5-on-5 bolt pattern if thats what you run. Also with certain ball joints you have to ream out the spindle, so you may need a reaming tool. The advantages are the pinto spindles are MUCH stronger and you pretty much don't ever have to worry about bending the steering arm which is so easily bent on the metrics. The pintos are lighter BUT if your using a small metric spindle right now then by the time you add the caliper adaptors to the pintos and also the heavy Granada rotors the weight is about the same. It was posted on here the other day by "Custom Performance" that compared to an impala spindle, the pintos were 30-50 lbs lighter. Hope that helps.

did a search and answered my own ?. it doesn't seem worth it cost wise and the amount of work that is involved plus finding replacements if they get bent. anybody looking to buy a set of pinto spindles? i'll let the whole front end go cheap.located in central ny
