What do you look for as far as a good temp on hoosiers? What things can you assume based on the temps? Does anyone use this a tuning tool?

Look in the tool box, there is a program that tells you.

We kept track of tire tempratures on all four tires after each feature race. Tempratures were taken in three positions across the face of the tire. To me, the meaning in temprature came about in the two rear tires, and how far the average heat values were split. If they had a big split, that usually meant one tire worked harder than the other, and we weren't going as fast as the others. When the values were close to each other, it meant both tires were working well, and we were hooked up. The tempratures also told us if we were rolling over tires, and if we had heat cycled a tire. Hope this helps.
