is there any easy way to check for a locker or a gold track style differential without pulling the center section or marking the tires? They mark tires at our local track, but 90% of the cars have the mark rubbed off them by the time the feature is done. last week techs idea for checking was to leave the car in gear and jack up one rear wheel and see if it would turn. Dind't really make sense to me and i tried to tell them i beleived they were incorrect at the way they were checking, i got more or less blew off. i need some ideas.

You mark the wheel, not the tire. Wal Mart has chalk markers in the automotive section for writing on windows and such. Stays on for the race but comes off at the car wash.

Good luck,

a locker will make a clicking sound when you either back up and turn or jack the car up and rotate one tire backwards...
hope this help

what they do around here is mark the tire when they are on the scale and make them turn in a circle in the infield.

I hated it but I have had them spray paint my rim and tire with white paint, it came off with lacquer thinner after the race, but it didnt come off during the race, It was done to everyone so I didnt mind.
