Short answer is a good shroud and a big radiator. Griffin is making extra thick radiators at a reasonable cost if you do not have room for a wider one.

1 to 1 pulleys, double pass radiator, wetter water

4 corner watering , where the water pump has 2 extra outlets that can be plumbed to the center of the cooling jacket in the heads , then a plate with 2 water hoses under your water neck ....the hoses go to the rear of your intake. this has helped us tremendously and we still use it on our alky car.

I had the same prob. last year. Changed to 1:1 pulleys. Removed restrictor added a tight shroud and I run a 15" 4-blade fan. I do not run water wetter, but prolly should.

Very Important: Clean your radiator often. I run a dirty sandy track on Friday and wash it out before I race on Saturday. I also remove it every couple weeks and really get after it.

Good luck.

Where using the same combination but using a 5/8 restrictor. That 4 blade fan relly make a big differecne.

Another thing to try is to open up the front of your car. I had an overheating problem and cut holes in the nose piece and put screen in it. Runs much cooler now, just have to make sure the radiator stays clean. I wash it out after every race. Have had no problems since. I figured this out when my engine was running 240 and I pulled in to the pits during a caution. Pulled the front pannel off and it ran fine after that.

as big a radiator as you can fit
1:1 pulleys, with good snug belts.
gm 405442 4 blade fan.
high flow Stewart or Edelbrock water pump
no restrictor or t-stat.
water wetter.
shroud
extra cooling lines to the heads dont hurt to balance water flow out of the engine
and neither does an oil cooler.

then clean the radiator out good nightly sometimes even have to clean it between races.
