Hoosier to become official tire of I.M.C.A.
VINTON, Iowa July 11 Hoosier Racing Tire of Lakeville, Ind., the
largest racing tire manufacturer in the world, will supply the official tire
for six I.M.C.A. divisions, beginning in 2006.
Hoosier will specifically design, manufacture and distribute hard
compound tires for I.M.C.A.s Modified, Late Model, Sprint Car, Stock Car
and Northern and Southern SportMod classes. The tires will be made available
for compe-tition from any Hoosier distributor throughout North America
beginning Jan. 1, 2006.
Hoosier has proven to us that they can meet the needs of this
organization and our racers, I.M.C.A. President Kathy Root emphasized, in
making the joint announcement with Hoosier. They share our philosophy of
cost containment and affordability for weekly racers. The issues of cost and
durability are extremely important to us, as they are to track pro-moters
and drivers.
Were proud to become the official tire supplier of I.M.C.A., said
Dennis Sherman, vice president of marketing for
Hoosier. We also recognize the importance of grassroots racing. Many of the
stars of tomorrow develop their careers and skills in I.M.C.A. They are able
to do that because I.M.C.A. has built a tradition surrounding affordable,
exciting racing.
Competitors will be able to utilize both Hoosier or American Racer tires
during the 2006 season. Details regarding the combination of the tires will
be released at a later date.
Hoosier tires have played an integral role in the new Jeffs Performance
Southern SportMod division this season.
Hoosiers network of distributors is up to the task of handling the
needs of the I.M.C.A. racers, said Brett Root, vice
president of operations for the sanctioning body. We have visited their
plant in Indiana and are pleased with the quality of tire they manufacture.
Im confident that our drivers will agree with that assessment.
We plan to announce more specific details as we continue to move
forward with Hoosier and we intend to have these tires displayed at the
I.M.C.A. Speedway Motors Super Nationals, as well as at the trade shows we
attend during the off season, he added.
No change is in store for sanctioned Hobby Stocks, which will remain on
OEM tires.
More information is available from I.M.C.A. at 319 472-2201.
