great, we get to run junk tires starting next year.they run nothing but hoosier up here in the northeast on the Eastern Dirt Mods and they plain **** as a tire. I assume were gonna be on a hard compound, and from what i've seen from the existing tires they glaze over after theve been through a heat cycle.

The way i read it, it leads one to believe their going to design a new tire for the IMCA cars. I doubt they will have IMCA run on the A's, at least i hope not.

Hoosier has new open 8" tire out, that is quite simply, AWESOME. New shoulder design, new compound, new tread design, and the tire flat hooks. Plus the wear isnt bad at all.

I wouldnt lean towards this being a bad deal yet, but if they make you guys run the EMOD A's then let the flaming begin.

This news has been on the racefan forum for sometime now. Brett Root came on there and said that Hoosier had to bid the tire to IMCA's specs, so the tire is supposed to be very simular to the current IMCA tire. IT WILL NOT BE THE GARBAGE UMP tire that is currently used.
I am not thrilled that Hoosier was chosen, but at least prices will be in check for next year. Now if UMP would go to the same Hoosier tire we would be in great shape !

slasher, according to the info. The tire is not yet fully developed and will not go on sale until January 1, 2006.

I also seen on another forum that the price was to be $89.50 per tire and the price was LOCKED IN for 3 years. If that is true, they are cheaper than the AR's around here. The last AR's I bought were $98 each!

You know, truth be know all in all the tires can't get much worse than the AR's are! I hate those tires, they're junk. Maybe this change is for the better.

He is talking about a new tire Hoosier has out for open tire tracks like what we run around here in eastern Ohio, Kentucky and WV.

Slasher, call Poske's they got em, medium compound, new tread and shoulder design. They look funny on a car, look really narrow because the thread desing change, flat out awesome tire.

36146 (26.5 x 8 x 15) 36152 (27.5 x 8 x 15) those are the Hoosier part numbers. Poske's will know what your after, there $99 a piece, and there not UMP legal.

That would be really awesome if UMP and IMCa both ran the same spec tire. Plus a new desgin, i hate the current UMP Hoosiers, them things do s*ck.

Only reason i brought these new Hoosiers up, is that i think they can make a great tire, but they sometimes ride the status quoe to long, such as the current UMP tires you all are so fond of.

Do you suppose they might actually give us two sizes so we could get some real stagger without sorting through tons of tires and having to stretch them?

the hoosier H-40 that UMP runs do not glaze over nearly as bad as and A.

I dont know how they will do it with the IMCA hoosiers but the tires we(ump mod) get are in alot of different sizes.

I was wondering about the stagger issue also. It sure would be nice if they'd give us a stagger tire! I do get tired of digging thru tires before I buy them, luckily I have a tire dealer that will let me go thru all his tires if I want to.

There was a thread on 4m that said that Hoosier has a tire out already. Its basicly a copy of the G60. Intial testing concerns was that the only last 30 laps before they begin to fall off. Thats what the guy on the thread had to say.

I believe its the owner of Stealth Mods, he went to say that he had one and anybody could stop by to see it at there trailer. Check 4M.net on the thread.
