I wondered how close everyone runs to their perspective weight rule. I know with in a half gallon how much fuel we use, but I don't know how much mud we pick up. When I do the pre-race set up The car weights 2460 with the driver, and with the amount of fuel that will be left after the race. Our weight rule is 2450. Am I making it to close here or not?

I see your point. That is the last thing we need is a DQ. I just wondered if there was some kinda of rule of thumb. The last 2 nights we were at 2500 after the main. I wondered if I should try to get it closer.

i usually scale the car at 2480 with 20 gallons of fuel.Usually i start the feature with 25 gallons in it.Always figured scale the car with less fuel than you start with so the car is better the last ten laps not the first ten. i run gas also which helps being you don't burn as much. 10 lbs is cutting kinda close either way. thats only what 1.5 gallons of fuel?

I guess I will stick with being a little heavy. Are car is pretty light so I have lots of ballast's. So far we have been pretty consistent with the amount of alcohol we use. 20 lap feature burn anywhere between 12 to 13 gallons. But the track is dry and slick. We have not had any rain for a long time. I guess if the track get some bite I will have to adjust my thinking. Thanks for the input.
