Were running a swing arm, z-link, 18" swing arm, currently i am running a 300lb spring on an elimator on the arm, and the shock behind which is a 4 valve. Plus i got a hold down shock valved 3/5 (comp/rebound).

If i were to move the shock to the arm on a coil over deal, what valving would be good? I was thinking a straight 5 valve, then maybe something like a 5/6 or 4/7.

Also are there any advantages to the coil over on a swing arm? other than packaging and weight, i cant see it, maybe lower shock speed or travel anyway, not sure.

Any thoughts?

Krom.

Krom,
The big advantage of coilovers is getting rid of the eliminators.
use whatever formula to figure out your shock rate the same way as you figure our your best spring rate for a swing arm.
