got an older champion that we converted over to a short swing arm setup with a 15" shorty bar. we started out with a bad push going in. we stiffened the right front from 850 to 925 and now it turns but the car wants to get up on the right front going in, i mean it just plants the tire hard but it also gets off the left rear. if i'm not careful it will spin out. i'm getting 3 1/4" compression on the rf, 4" comp. on the rr (325# spring), and the lr is comming up 5" (topped out) i'm sure it's picking the tire off and thats why it wants to spin out. so do i control the body roll with stiffer springs(i think this will make the car want to skate up the hill) or do i drop my ballast lower on the left rear to try and keep more weight on that corner. i think the high ballast goes up to the rf going in and as soon as i get on the throttle the shorty bar and short swing arm just throw the weight over to the right. am i on track or am i missing something????

have you thought about moving your panhard bar? maybe raising the bar both ends and/or take angle out of it? 4" of comp. sure seems like TOO much to me. I always shoot for 2" to 2.5" also have you checked the actual spring rate. There is a calculator in the Tool Box on this site to calculate actual spring rate on a swing arm.

Think i would try a 950 RF, and after that start moving the rear RC up. That RR sounds soft as well.

Ballast might help it, if you dont have a 950 spring try moving the ballast around and then move the rear RC around.
