Working on a buddy's chassis.I put 4 bar /z link on it. It has a long pull bar in the car.The mount on the frame is on the right side of the drive shaft and the pull bar is on a pretty good angle back to the rearend.

My questions.
1. Does the pull bar being on an angle hurt any thing.Id like to move it a little more to the left to tighten the car ,but not sure if it will have an effect because of where its mounted on the chassis.

2.If i shorten the pull bar and make a new mount i can get it straight in the car and have the ability to move it easier. Is there any disadvantage to the short pull bar vs. the long pull bar.

First off, having the pullbar set at an angle left-to-right in the car can cause a bind. Most especially when the car rolls over.
I have run both the long and short pullbars. I like the short ones myself. They do react quicker and can seem more radical than the long bar. My suggestion: try it and see if you like it. But I would definately try to get that pullbar straight. Moving the pullbar over to the left will tighten exit and loosen entry. We talked about this a while back on this forum, in my experience it takes at least 1-2" of movement before there is any difference felt. Others may have felt it with a smaller change but thats my experience with it.
Hope that helps!!!

my opinion, the car felt like it has more bite with the short bar. The main difference I felt was the quicker reaction though. Maybe on a big 1/2 mile track you might want the longer bar to help it continue to bite down the straights. Mainly I run 1/4 mile and some short 3/8 tracks.

move both ends of the bar. moving just one can and will cause the bar to bind. get the bar as straight as possible.
