my old crew member fromlast year went and bought mike coopers 1st ultralit mod that he built waaaaay back in like 87-88ish i talk to mike last year but cant get ahold of him but this car has a mono-leaf rear, a 76 lincoln rearend, a aluminum powerglide and a 8.5-9.1 motor(this is a b-mod!!)

the track is 5/16ths, slightly banked, its Blackbird bend Speedway

my friend kevin runs this car with no setup on it is there has to be somebody that can give us setup ideas!!(wheel offsets, springs, percentages)

the car weighs 3000lbs+thats with him in it full of 22 gallons full and NO LEAD!!!

he had a 4-bar driver try to set his car up but jeff doesnt know anything about mono's!!

THANKS GUYS I WILL BE PRINTING YOUR RESPONSES OFF AND GIVING THEM TO HIM HE DOES NOT HAVE INTERNET ACCESS

Sounds like the car is soooooooo old and not worth running in the first place. You went thru this yourself not long ago and got yourself a newer chassis. If your min weight is much less than 3000 I would lose the weight .

i told him the car was waaaaay to old but he wouldnt listen but i dont know what to tell him for a basic setup.

then as far as i know kevin is tryin to set his car up like a hobby stock!!! he says with his weight he thinks he needs to setup like a hobby , i disagree with this.

i do know all he has is 175 rear springs, 650lf and 750 right front springs and 50 lbs of bite in rear is all he turned 7800 3 weeks and almost just stood there car wouldnt move!!

Set your front end ride heights the same as you would any other car, then start with about an inch of wedge in the rear.3000 is pretty heavy but not impossible to work with. A heavy race car is still better than no race car, right? What frame is it built on?Can you scale the car just to see where you're at? Is there any unnecessary weight that can be removed? Good luck

Its huge its a tank!!! dont see much area where a guy could shave weight.

The rub rail on the passenger side is the same size as the main cage itself!!

I wanna say the car was built on a 76 monte frame or the front half of it anyways its not a full frame mod.108-110ish wheelbase

kevin weighs in at 275+lbs by himself, and runs 22 gallons of 90 octane, so far he has close to $9000.00 turnkey race ready believe it or not!! i have almost died being there when sponsers would talk to him.

Buddy, I don't want to be mean or a jacka** but come on, get some brains dude. Firstly, the car is old enough to be 90% rusted out inside. Second, The thing weighs enough that it is going to be a missle in the event of an accident, or if he is to T-Bone someone, the car is going to go right through the car he is in a wreck with. If he has $9,000 in the car already, tell him to take it all back. $9,000 could get him the car race ready and trailer to pull it full of tools, plus be faster and safer with money to spare. There are plenty of safe "Cheap" cars on the market... Scares me to even think about coming over there and racing... It doesn't matter what octane fuel or how big the nerf bars are man... Use your head and think saftey and be real when you guys buy cars. Like I said I'm not trying to be a jacka** and if comes off that way, my bad, but you need to get it together and start using your head when you start getting someone or helping someone into racing.

I had my 03 Pierce mod for sale over the winter for 6000. 9000 doesn't make since, but o'well. 1st no side rails/rub rails or outside door bumbers. take a totch to the front open up the spring pockets and cut cross member out, radiator clearence. any extra bars or mounts cut them out!! we need to know the true wheel base and the track width of the car. 58-60% rear. if you get that use less fuel. whats the front end? metric stuff big impala?

whoa... whoa.... whoa.... WHOA!!! i did NOT buy this car for him i told him evreything you r tellin me safety wise he would not listen!!! i told him about 4 0r 5 other cars in fact!!!

he was 2900lbs on scale he's 275+=3175lbs
i know that a safety factor for all of us

secondly if i have to lose some positions in the a feature i will not start next to him anywhere if i can help it!!!!

all i know my car has about1.5 seasons left on it thank god...i have 3000 race ready in mine(and its extremely safe)......i told him he was stupid for spendin that much but he wont listen....so in my eyes i want him up to speed so when we lap him its not like he is just sitting there!!!

1 motor=$4750 (motor blew in 10 laps)
2 motor=$1500
3 car =$1200
