In front,on top and behind all clamped just depends on track conditions.

I haven't tried on top, but I did run it clamped up front and it didn't work very well. I now run mine clamped behind and it works pretty good!

DEPENDING ON HOW FREE YOU WANT THE CAR IS HOW YOU SPRING IT. IF YOU WANT A JACKED UP, THREE WHEELING MONSTER THAT ROCK IN ROLLS OFF THE CORNER SPRING BOTH SPRINGS BEHIND THE AXLE, IF YOU WANT A FLAT CAR THAT KEEPS THE LEFT FRONT DOWN SPRING THE RIGHT REAR ON TOP OF THE HOUSING. WE HAVE BEEN ON A 4 BAR 2 LINK FOR 2 YEARS NOW, WE ARE FAST AND COMPEPTITIVE AND WE HAVE TRIED ALL THE SUSPENSION MENTIONED ABOVE.
4 /2 WITH RIGHT SPRING ON TOP- VERY DRIVABLE, AND FREE IN THE CENTER OF THE CORNER, CORNER SPEEDS ARE FASTER, BUT GIVES ALOT AWAY COMING OFF THE CORNER.
4/2 WITH BOTH BEHIND. THREE WHEELS AND CAN BE VERY TIGHT ON THE GAS IN THE APEX OF THE CORNER, BUT ABSOLUTLY FLIES OFF THE CORNER
4/2 WITH LEFT REAR CLAMPED UP IN FRONT AND RIGHT SPRING BEHIND- I THINK THIS SETUP ***** . VERY TIGHT COMING OFF THE CORNER AND WANTS TO SLIDE THE FRONTEND
4/2 LEFT REAR CLAMPED AND RIGHT ON TOP. GOOD COMING OFF CORNER, FREE IN THE CENTER BUT SEEMS TIGHT GETTING IN ON CORNER ENTRY.

ALL IN ALL WE HAVE NOTICED A FASTER RACECAR WITH BOTH BEHIND THE AXLE. ONCE THE DRIVER LEARNS TO KEEP THE CAR ON THE BARS AND PROVIDING HIMSELF WITH REAR STEER TO GET THROUGH THE APEX, THIS IS THE OVERALL FASTER SETUP, BUT IT 3 WHEELS AND NEEDS BAR ANGLE TO REALLY DRIVE OFF THE CORNER. THANKS HOPE THIS HELPS

Yes my car 3-wheels BAD!!! Both my springs are behind. I was running 200LR and 175RR springs and it was carrying the LF so high I could barely see over it! So I changed to 225LR 200RR and it helped bring the LF down. Still carries it but at least I can see over it. The car is pretty fast. I tried the RR spring in front and the car seemed to have almost NO sidebite and forward bite of course suffered from that. It was smoking the RR tire.

After moving the spring behind and playing with the scale numbers I have got the car pretty good, still needs some tweaking but its close. What I really like about it, is that even though I'm carrying the LF when I come off the track NONE of the tires are hot. They are just warm to the touch. Of course the LF is ice-cold! LOL!! I guess that means I'm getting it closer to a balanced setup. Of course its not too very balanced on 3-wheels!
