We were planning on building(my own chassis, but shop room and time little hard to find for now) a new mod or two for next season, but looks like I will end up just buying a new, or newer, frame or complete chassis for NEXT season.
I am woundering what chassis you guys have or like.
I am leaning like 75%for a shaw car. i like thrown dirt chassis but very far away from us. I would like to know more about TRE cars also. I know alot of guys on here like pierce, and alot like harris and dw, pierce is not out of the question but dw and harris is.
just woundering what your guys opinions are, or if i missed some chassis you guys like.

we changed from a GRT (which wed been with since 98 with two different cars)to a HOFFMAN chassis this year and its improved our program tons. so far this season weve made every show and two times qualified in the top 10 which is a tough deal where we race. we have had great runs in heats with some very fast cars that have much more HP than us as well. we are still tuning and working on dry slick set ups but its the best car ive ever had and jerry is great to work with.

There's a Shaw car at our track that has won 4 in a row over Jet mods, Harris & several other brands. They have now put a bounty on this car if anyone can beat him. Bad fast!!!

Seems like chassis builders have great success at different times. I have a older Harris that has worked great for me. In my area the dirtworks and GRT have done well. UMP the Pierce cars do well. The last year Hoffman cars are have done well. Just my two cents but I beleive that you should choose a car that fits the type of tracks you are running. I.E. dry vers tacky tracks, most cars seems to work well on either or but not so good on both. Obviously as mentioned in past posting service is key. If I were in the market I would be looking into Harris, Hoffman or Shaw and not in any order. But remember opinions are like as......, everyone has one.
Go with a good safe chassis and your gut feel.

Zero,
you know what I think! If I were you I would get a Shaw. Well built, fast and good tech. (from what I'm told because I don't have one) There are a handful of Shaw's around here that run my usual track occasionally. We they show up, they are VERY fast. I'm seriously considering selling mine and buying a Shaw for next year.

The best car to buy in my opinion is the one that has good 'after the sale' tech advice. Check around before you get out your wallet.. Is the guy willing to show up in person to help ya out when you have done all he says and you are still out to lunch?
Pretty easy to make claims from the phone and miles away... I want a car that has the builder within my arms reach so to speak. I chose an upstart chassis builder this year that has a winning reputation here locally, and it has payed off for us already, as the guy was at the track to help us our 1st 2 nites out and we won the 2nd feature we were in thanks to him!
I'm sold! JMO ford5

Zero, the website is TREmotorsportsinc.net. Steve and Brian are really good guys and easy to talk to, and they make really fast cars. I know Johnny Bone Jr. is running one this year.

Skyrockets are a good car with good service but good luck finding one. The only thing with the Skyrocket is they are pretty lightweight. Doesnt take much of a hit especially in the rear, but they are light.
Hughes chassis is another one kind of a skyrocket copy i think but I think would be a good choice. Track champion last year for us was in a Victory, but DW is most popular car still at our track. I like the DW front end, especially on the DW8 chassis. WE have a DW9 now and its working very well after we reworked the rear setup.

I know the Skyrocket, Hughes and Pierce are clamped up cars and I know you like the spring behind on the LR so you might want to look into that when looking at chassis. If you come across some cars that are setup or designed for spring behind as standard let me know. I am having trouble thinking of any that are.

I might be wrong but Zero, aren't you running a BMS now??? I have heard good things about TRE never raced against one though.

There is a place in Kentucky called Racer's Edge. I have a friend that has one and its pretty fast. Also another local had one and won about every race he entered before he went to running latemodels full time. Also if I'm not badly mistaken didn't the TRE cars used to be called Racer's edge also??? The one in Kentucky doesn't have a website I don't think but if you want me too I'll try to get their number this weekend.

I have a bms now, its ok, no mojor complaints just a few smaller ones. like hard to mount things, and a few other small things. The TRE used to be called martin i think. I talked to them today and they sent me some info about them. I am still looking at many different cars though.

I want to reccomend WT Harris Race Cars. You will not beat the tech support WT answers the phone himself and will even give you his cell and recomends you call from the track if you any concerns or questions. he has top cars in UMP even though he builds and sells a low number of cars each year.
812-897-0022
Here is one of his top cars take a look at the Forward Bite in his cars !! Also take note of how dry the track was and the car was still hooked up !
