I'm pulling my hair out over this one. I have done the wiring on 4 car's 3 with DUI distr and one sa stock redone distr. 2 of these car's when you rev above 4 grand they needle jumps all over the place. I read the instruction and rewired the ground directly to the batt and still the same. The tach is a 6809 Auto Meter. Does anyone have any suggestions. Like I said Ive wired many car's and never had this problem. Oh one tach is brand new and the other has maybe fifty laps on it.
Any help would be appreciated!

We don't run a tach, but check and make sure it isn't set for a 4 or 6 cylinder. Good luck.

Do you need a adapter for the DUI ignitions?
Accel BEI and laser ignitions need an adapter. If not check your connections.
Call Autometer

The wires for 4cyl and 6cyl have not been cut. Ego what do you mean by Where is the advance coming in on the distr? I called Auto Meter and the tech guy told me to try a stock distr and if it's ok then I need a resistor to purify the signal. I'm going to the garage to try it on my car right now. I'll let you guy's know.

If the advance weights and springs are wrong the advance may be comming in at the RPMyou are checking it at. Thus it would be bouncing in and out of advance.
