What do you do to keep from tearing off more than one? Anyother tear off tips are welcome as well.

Are you folding the big hole back over the pin, and then putting the next tear off on top of that? Or are you trying to separate them while you are driving?

I have been flipping one over to pull from the left than the right and back agian. Been working so far but I find that pulling them while under green can be a hazard. Folding them over makes much more sense. Kinda feel dumb.

i used to have that problem alot, i folded them under and still would sometimes, but found that stacking them off each other, one to the left, one right, one left, one right worked good, but after a few laps i would forget which side and mis grab till i found one.
also try tearing them off slower, that helps too, just gently tug them dont rip them off, i used to pull them off too hard and sometimes that would get a few extra.

Rookie mistake I made last year, I have always pulled from right to left. I stacked them and folded the hole into the pin, but...I was not folding the last one over, just left it flat. The first few nights I reached across and grabbed about half of them and off they went. I still stack them to the right, but be gentle as Zero said, make sure you have just one and dont wait til you cant see anymore. Sometimes, I just cant get the handle on it and have to wait until I get thru the turn to give er another try. So I make sure that I dont wait until I am blinded before yanking them off.

I stack the two on the bottom of the stack opposite of the rest so I know when I'm down to my last one.

Also, go with the Racing Optics Speed Stack tear-offs. More expensive than the other ones, but way better vision and tighter to the helmet.

until it gets hot out and the dust sticks to the residue that gets left behind, no thanks, I threw half of a box away after that. plus you have to pull the whole thing across to get it off, the wind just doesnt grab it like normal ones.
I put a screen in my window bars and I only use a couple tear offs a night, paint it flat black and you dont even notice it, then when it fills up, I just tap it with one hand and it all fals off. 1/4 by 1/4 or 3/8 by 3/8 hole screen.

I take the speed stacks and put them on the bottom then you can stack up normal ones on top those so your only looking threw as many regular ones you put on..and you may not even use down to the speedstack. Use it for tacky tracks. ALso I have found that the speedstacks have a side thats 'sticky' and one is smooth.. This mabye the dust sticking your talking about. Peel one back and put a regular tear off against it and one side will stick and the other it will move freely. Put em on so your stacking against the slick side. Just tryin to help.

leapin lizard - I was doing it the same way you were for my first 4 years of racing until a friend of mine showed me the right way. I felt kinda dumb too! Its so simple.

One thing I do is tape the last one on with 3m magic tape so I know that it is the last one. Then I will attempt to wipe the mud until the last lap and then pull the taped one off.

An easier way is just to lead the race and let everyone else eat your mudd!!!

When I put the first one on I fold the big hole under the tearoff, so I cannot pull it off, and always keep a rag in my lap so I can wipe that one off if I have to, that way you won't scratch the shield.

I traced one on my helmet with a sharpie, So who evers in my pit helping get them on the right direction... I tear mine from left to right. Not fun when they are on backwards. Its like try to throw a fast ball with your left hand(for right handed folks)...

And the emergency rag tucked under my belt just in case..

With all this rain we are getting, I'm building windsheild wipers instead.

And a boat.
