on my dw 8 i have 8 degrees pos rf caster and 2 degrees pos lf caster.
the car has always been naturally tight coming in.
is anyone using more left pos. caster than rf pos. caster to make it looser turning in and tighter back steering coming out. if so how does it work for you???

Caster is measured from vertical, looking at the wheel from the side. If the Spindle is leaning back (towards the rear of the car) it is negative caster. Leaning FWD is positive.

We run, 0 to 2* positive in the LF, and about 6 to 8* negative caster on the RF.

More caster on the RF will make the car tighter when you back steer.

I would set it at 1* positive on the LF, and about 5* negative on the RF, try to keep the split about 6*, some try to keep the split in the 4 to 5* range, you may want to expieriment with that.

It seems that once the split between the to becomes to large the two sides begin to not work with each other.

positive caster is when the spindle inclination is tilting back like a bycicles forks.
we run 1.5deg +ve LF
3.5deg +ve rf
with power steering.

i think it would be worthwhile to stick with your chassis manufacturers recommended settings.

Wow, i must of been thinking of positive caster and negative caster backwards.

Might be the best bet, to call DW and get there base set up and work from there.

I run 5 pos. lf and 7+ pos. rf but I like the feel the track and it don't follow the ruts when rough.
