I have a 2002 pierce 4 link both sides and I run a chain limiter on the left side. The chain came unhooked last night and the car was very tight. I know the chain coming off will get up on the bars more and create more rear steer. Could this also be the cause of my push? My thought is it will plant the left rear harder than it did with the chain hooked up.

why do you run a chain?

When I got the car that is how they had it so I left it that way. It is a over slung car and I thought they did it so it would not be using the shock to stop the travel. But my thinking may be wrong as I am new to the 4 link stuff.

got ya, I would not run the chain myself, we dont run one, I was always afraid of the spring falling out and Bob told me he made it so the shock would be all the way stressed and the spring will have tension on it,

So do you think that the extra travel would tighten the car up?

Ok sense this was only my 2nd night in this car. Here is were I am at what would you do to loosen it up some.Springs are 750# left front 650# right front and 200# on both rears in front on left on top on the right.
52.6% left side 57.7% rear 49.3% cross panhard bar on left side and even with the pinion. The rear bars are left side 3rd hole up from bottom and the bottom bar is in the top hole. On the right the top is 3rd hole up from the bottom and the bottom bar is in the bottom hole. The bottom brackets only have two holes and the top has 6 holes.

Wieghts are

Id you are under 240# to loosedn the car I would increase the left side ( wedge will loosen going in tighten comming off), maybe raise the panhard bar on the pinion 1 notch (when the car rolls this will put more rt front into the car, loosening the chassis and not allowing left rear to come up as hard). To increase the left side you may be able to simply offset the rear end 1/2" to the right. I would not put any static lead in the rear end yet. By increaseing the weight on the left rear you will also address the issue with the chain on the left rear (greater left rear weight less lift on the chassis). 4 bar chassis usually puts loose roll steer into the car (Left rear advances ahead of right rear). Left rear bite increases improving left rear drive, tighter off of the corner.

To add to this I can get in the corner good but as soon as I get in the gas it just plows straight ahead. I also have 2" of stager and run on the imca tire.

down 1 hole with both left bars, maybe to the bottom with the top bar.
does your car have a lift bar or pull bar?
less angle on your pullbar, mount pullbar further right?

It has a pull bar and a lift bar but the lift bar has no spring it is just to stop reboud on the pinion

you cant change angle on the pullbar on a Pierce, I would lower the left side upper bar a hole or two. in our Pierce we run about 10# of lr bite your running around 40# you could drop that and that will help,
I would change those two things and you will be happy.
oh ya are you running 57.7 rear with out driver or with, with out driver and 20gal.
of fuel you want 56.0 rear
